Troubleshooting
Quick fixes for the handful of things that occasionally go wrong, and how to reach us if they don't help.
Start here
Most issues clear up with one of these, in order:
- Refresh the page. A reload fixes the large majority of glitches.
- Update your browser. The tools use modern browser features; an old version is the most common cause of odd behaviour.
- Check blockers. A very strict ad or script blocker can stop parts of a page from loading. Allowing
pageonaut.comusually resolves it — the tools themselves work with a blocker on, but some need their own scripts to run. - Try another browser. If it works in a second browser, the problem is something local to the first (an extension, a cached file, a setting).
Files that won't process
Browser-based tools are powered by your device, not a server, which is great for privacy but means very large files are bounded by your available memory:
- Try a smaller file, or split the job into parts.
- Close other heavy tabs to free up memory.
- For big images or PDFs, a desktop has far more headroom than a phone.
"Temporarily unavailable"
Now and then a tool is taken offline for a short maintenance window — when that happens, its page tells you directly. It's not gone; check back shortly, or use a related tool in the meantime.
